DCSWA Holiday Party on Gather Town

Though we can’t gather together in person this year, we’d still love to bring our members together in some way.

This year’s holiday party admission will be free, thanks to the benefit of no venue cost or catering expenses. But we want this event to be special, so we are selling $5 DCSWA coffee mugs when you register to hold your beverages for future DCSWA gatherings! (The cost offsets shipping, but we're covering the rest.) You're also welcome to make a donation so we can pay our speakers and panelists for future events.

We’ve chosen GatherTown as our virtual platform for the holiday party this year, and designed a virtual gathering space just for the occasion. Gather Town is a virtual platform where you can create an avatar, ‘walk’ around a ‘room’ and have video conversations with fellow attendees in groups or individually—sort of like Club Penguin (or other multiplayer online games) with video chat function. When you walk up to another person’s avatar, your videos will automatically pop up like a Zoom call and you can mingle or network, almost like we’re together at the National Press Club as usual.
